require inflation to cover defaults on the assets of banks in our
fractional reserve system (the money multiplier)?
We have devalued the dollar 95%. That is a 95% tax in a sense
because if takes away from your buying power. They made part of it
up by paying you more devalued dollars but, I guarantee the average
worker doesn’t come out ahead in that game.
Tax the rich and business? Most of it is passed on to the
consumer so go ahead and tax the lower wage and middle class more
indirectly through hidden taxes. The ones that can’t pass it on
will leave or close up shop and lay off more workers, so go ahead
and tax them.
Tax compliance costs are higher than the tax in many businesses
so go ahead and tax them more, too and let them pass that on to the
consumer too.

For most citizens of the US, you are not required by law to pay
a federal income tax. Words within the IRS code are not fully
investigated. Don't take this legal crap for face value. Verify,
check, and recheck. Watch with amazement as you will see you and
all of us have been deceived. It is ironic that failure to pay
(which about 40% of the country doesn't) may result in fines or
prison.
